What am I supposed to be doing?

Based on our very unscientific and somewhat random poll about the 5 biggest challenges working in an alternative workstyle, distractions are the biggest challenge.  Of course this begs the question, what exactly are these distractions?  So let’s vote again!  Some of you offered your distractions in previous comments or emails to me (thank you!), but if you don’t see your top distractions on this list, feel free to add.

    Good to know I’m not the only one waylaid by emails. Much easier to turn email off completely when involved in major projects. However, it is much harder to ignore on a daily basis.

    I, too, voted for email as the biggest distraction — but another one is the weather. It’s difficult to stay put at your computer when it’s gorgeous outside!
