A poignant reminder of the dangers we face working in an alternative workstyle….

The Awkward Gawker

I spent my morning working at the Starbucks in my neighborhood… and decided to use the bathroom before I left.

Larger than your typical Starbucks, this place has only one toilet.

So I waited… and waited… and waited.

Alas, I heard the jiggle of the knob, the turn of the lock, realized the opening of the door.

There he was, in all his glory, looking refreshed and subdued… carrying his laptop.  More specifically, his open laptop.

#%$^&*#$@#$%#?!?!

By all accounts, which includes wait time and bouquet, it is my best guess this man took “taking care of business” to a whole new level.

Lesson learned: Don’t ever assume you know where your customer is coming from.  Use your senses.
